Grain NY is Headed North

We are Headed North!

After 7 years on the East End, The Grain NY shop is packing up and joining our York Maine HQ.

Our Grain NY shop was born out of a workshop experience here in Maine. Brian and Patrick built two beautiful surfboards that they still surf today, and from there, the dream was born. The NY crew has shared the experience with hundreds of people, both kids and adults and we are forever grateful to them and all who have shared their joy and stoke on the East End.

Of course, it has always been about more than surfing and surfboards: it’s the connection, collaboration, and celebration of community.  The human exchanges in each workshop live on in us as part of our collective evolution.

Together we built something we are proud of on the East End and we can honestly say it has been a labor of love.  Providing an opportunity for people to build their own wooden surfboard, skateboard~ to slow down and be a part of the process~ and experience the joy of creating something with your hands~ it’s completely been our pleasure to share this undertaking with all of you!

This summer we are reveling in the beauty of what we have all built together. Join us!

If you have been thinking about building a board with us in Amagansett, we are hosting workshops through September. If you have a gift certificate burning a hole in your back pocket, you will need to use it before September, as these are not transferable to Maine.

In the fall, help us welcome Theo, Grain NY’s manager, to our York Maine shop. We’re thrilled to have him, and all of the passion and experience he brings with him.

If you’ve built a board with us in Amagansett over the past seven years, thank you! You are a part of the Grain family and we hope to see you here in York, Maine, this September for the Surf Re-Evolution gathering.

Thanks for your enduring support,

The Grain Crew
