Price List

Grain Surfboards will glass your wood board using top-quality epoxy resins. Generally, wood boards are so strong that they require only a single layer of 4-ounce cloth. Hardware is installed based on dimensions provided by customer. Without a UV, polished or sanded finish, some minor surface imperfections will be visible.

About Epoxy: Epoxy is known to be a more challenging resin to get great glass jobs with. It’s more finicky than polyester resin, and is more difficult to polish. Though it takes more time and is substantially more expensive, we have chosen to use only epoxy because it has superior strength and elasticity and ages far better than polyester. And though it causes skin sensitivities to humans, it releases little or no VOC’s that contribute to climate change.

Base Glass Job

  • up to one hour of detail work on the finished blank before glass
  • one layer of 4 ounce cloth
  • lam, hot and gloss coat
  • all finboxes required for the model
  • leash cup
  • screw-in vent w/ aluminum vent plug
  • trimming and buffing of gloss-coat epoxy edges around hardware and at cut-laps.

    NOTE: Prices are based on HomeGrown Kit and Grain Workshop boards where epoxy, glass and hardware are already included in the kit or class. Other boards are charged additionally for materials used.
