4-Day Board Building Course

Classes begin each day at 7:30am. Breakfast is either first thing, or right after we get something glued on to your board, just depends on the day.
Lunch will be served around midday.
4-Day Board Building begins Thursday morning and ends the following Sunday

Day 1: Thursday

  • Overview of Grain and the building process
  • Each student starts with a board with the frame already glued to the bottom planks
  • Students will pair up into teams of two to accomplish railing all the boards on day one
  • The morning will be spent working together to rail one persons board
  • The afternoon working together to rail the other persons board

    • Day 2: Friday

  • Cleaning up rails and fairing outline
  • Shave down lands
  • Glue down top planks

    • Day 3: Saturday

  • Shave down top planks
  • Fair deck to rail seam
  • Glue on tail block

    • Day 4: Sunday

  • Refine outline and rail shapes
  • Final shaping, sanding
