Rasta Mini-Gun #2 Finished
When we were in Hawaii, Brad started building a second identical mini-gun while Dave Rastovich worked on his own. We just finished board #2 back at the shop in Maine, complete with pinline details and a Hawaiian koa-wood nose detail as an homage to it's North Shore roots. We really love the shape of this board, and have decided to include it in our line in the near future. Keep an eye on the boards pages for full specs and photos. We're expecting a lot of response from the West-coast surfers who asked for a Grain mini-gun during our two-week Oregon to SoCal RV odyssey but we also think it'll be a great travel board for those heading for hollow heavy destinations abroad.
Open Shop
Our 2009 winter season Open Shop has been a blast. A handful of local surfers have been coming by a couple times a week to build boards or finish boards they built during one of our other classes and the boards have been coming out great. It's been fun to have these guys coming in regularly, and we love the thought that there will be five new wood boards surfing at our local breaks. Thanks to Chris, Duncan, Mark, Greg, and Tom for coming in, hanging out with us, and making some great boards.
Class Openings
There are still seats available in our upcoming board building and glassing workshops. All the guys and gals who have taken part in these workshops have been totally psyched on the experience, and we've all had a lot of fun in the process. Folks have come from as far away as France, Switzerland, and Japan to take part, and that's turned our little shop into a weird kind of cultural center where we get to learn more about the world than we ever would have thought possible. Check the Classes page for schedule and other details.
