Grain Surfboards offers wooden surfboard building classes right in our shop in York, Maine. You’ll learn alongside the same builders that craft our custom wooden surfboards from locally grown, sustainable white cedar. By the end of a Grain class, each student will walk away with their own hand-built, wooden surfboard.

In a Nutshell: 7-Day Board Building Course

In just one week you’ll build your own surfboard, ready for glass. Materials used in the board and the glassing materials to be taken home with the student are the same as we use in our Grain Home Grown Surfboard kits.

- Tuition for the week-long course is $1,575.00, which includes the cost of materials.

In a Nutshell: Board Builder’s Fantasy Camp

A special offering: a “pick-your-own-dates, design-your-own-course” workshop. All you do is pick dates that fit in around our other activities, select your options, decide if you want a friend to come, then just show up.

- Tuition varies depending on how long you want to stay, but includes cost of materials.
