We lucked out again. And big. We’d been warned that if we promised you sun, surf, art and music on the coast of Maine, surely we’d be rained out, with an ocean flat as a mill pond. But luck was on our side and the only rain we saw coincided perfectly with the rather large bonfire that we ended the night with. We had six straight days of near perfect surf, friends joining us from all around the country, a barn filled with creativity, surf films, music, DIY handplane station, great local food and more. It was a weekend we will have trouble topping next year.
A big thanks go out to all of you, our guests, old friends and new, our supporters and volunteers, perhaps most importantly to our landlord who puts up with our shenanigans and – of course – to mother nature for making a very special weekend for all of us.
But we also need to thank all of our invitees who made this past weekend so special:
New Hampshire Surfrider
Pine Knot Surfboards
Daren Fippenger and his cotton candy machine
Pete Miller Band
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
The Inn on the Blues
Last but not least, the whole crew from right here at Grain: Brad, Tyler, John, Nolan, Gemini, Ascher, Colin, Alison, Courtney and Nick. You guys and girls make me look forward to coming to work in the morning more than I look forward to going home at the end of the day. I appreciate everything you guys do to make this place what it is.
Here are a few photos that I think sum things up.
Thanks to Andy and Courtney for the use of the photos.
