Rollin’ Nolan Home Again Potluck Party
June 14th, 2010, by MikeAfter 5 weeks of driving, meandering around just about every nook and cranny of coastline from Maine to Cape Hatteras, Nolan is finally on his way home. Join us this Sunday June 20th, International Surfing Day, from 12 – 4pm here at our shop and help us welcome Nolan home. We’ll have the grill going and some drinks on hand, but feel to bring your favorite dish or drink as well. We hope to have a little slide show with images and stories from the road.
Come on by for a mellow gathering, lively conversation and a deep sigh of relief as a trip, short-in-the-making, comes to a close.

Nate,
Sucks to have a session like that. So sorry. We had a big crew that day (six guys, four of which were Delaware locals) all on our wood boards. There may have been a bit more enthusiasm for the boards and some may have sucked up more waves than they should have. Sorry if you got snaked a few times. I thought everyone was totally friendly, and I’m sorry that I didn’t detect anyone’s bad feelings, or I would have done something about it in a hot minute. I think that I personally chatted with almost everyone out there at one point or another and no one seemed anything but friendly. We are in the habit of sharing waves on a tiny day like yesterday, but I guess you’ve had a long dry spell and we should have been sensitive to that. In future, you might give a friendly comment to someone that seems to you to be uncourteous so that they can clean up their act while we’re all in the water and can do something about it. Call me and we can talk more, or send you and your brother’s shirt sizes to me.

I was out at naval jetties with you guys that day, there weren’t that many guys out and I think everyone had a chance to catch waves. I spoke with a couple of guys in your group and everyone seemed great. I even got an invite to the brewery tour happening the next day. By the way, was that a specific show you guys were filming for??
As for the locals..lighten up..you should have spoken up,

Hey Andy – that was a fun day. Not sure exactly what the film crew that was there was working on, it wasn’t for us specifically and I don’t have any details to share. If we get hold of it later, we’ll share it here and on facebook and twitter for sure.
