Grain Surfboards featured in the Sustainable Travel International Gift Guide
December 17th, 2008, by MikeWe recently found out that Grain was selected by Sustainable Travel International to be featured in their 4th Annual Green Gear and Gift Guide. The guide showcases a variety of eco-friendly, renewably sourced, and fairly traded products and we couldn’t be more honored to be included.
Sustainable Travel International (STI) is a global leader in sustainable tourism development. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization’s mission is to promote sustainable development and responsible travel by providing programs that enable consumers, businesses and travel-related organizations to contribute to the environmental, socio-cultural and economic values of the places they visit, and the planet at large.
Visit STI’s website or check out their monthly newsletter for more information.
We’re also pleased to be included for the second year in the TreeHugger Green Gift Guide. Our Board Building workshops are an unforgettable gift that can be shared by the giver and the getter because we often have family “teams” building boards together.
Don’t forget, it’s not too late to order Grain goodies for the holidays for your favorite surfers. Our bamboo, hemp and organic cotton t’s and hoodies, woodworking tools, Wave Tribe leashes, or if your unsure, a Grain Gift Certificate branded and burned into our cedar plank scraps.

Hi Guys,
I would love to do one of your shop courses long about August, 2009. I’ll be looking at your schedules.
I have just finished my first hollow wood board at home and have a strong background surfing and wood working.
Orange County California is home and I’m a 60 year old daily surfer at San Onofre. Past member Hawaiian Surf Club and current Sano Surfing Club member.
You are the bomb! Your design makes perfect sence just observing your web site. Really well thought out and looks like it leaves room for the personal touch in the final shape.
Is that Shon Driscoll in the class picture as you all gathered around the board for a class?
Merry Christmas all,
BB

Hey Baloney Bob, thanks for the comment. We’re working on the full 2009 schedule as we speak, should be posting it by next week. We’ve never had a Shon in a class so I don’t think it’s who you think it is.
Thanks for the support though and look forward to having you in a class sometime this year.
Mike
