Brad,

That foamie looks an awful lot like my bing '68 dave nuuhiwa replica...is it possible that could've been the broken board...never could imagine that thing breaking....but hey, it's foam. Mike mentioned someone up there had that or a similar board when I stopped up there off JFK. Great to read the grain updates...looks like you guys are having fun. Keep it up!

Jayson,

I think that Ed Verge had mentioned you to me... If you are in Maine sometime, defintely come by the shop! And rest assured - there are more and more people surfing wood again. You are not alone, and there are lots of places online to share ideas about building, riding and loving wood surfboards. Check back on our site in the next couple of months... we are planning an exciting new resource for just that purpose!

Hey Brad! I am the builder of the hollow wooden surfboard. At the time I conceived my plan to build the boar d I thought I may be the only one. I came across the article in Wooden Boat Magazine about your shop and I was so excited that I wasn't the only knucklehead wanting or building a hollow wooden surfboard. The website above has some pictures of my board which was exhibited in 2006 wood boat show. Its a shame you weren't able to make it to that show. I would have loved to meet you and share ideas. Thanks for being part in pioneering this art and skill.
