Grain Moves Closer To Being 100% Green

May 30th, 2007, by Mike

In our continued efforts to provide an alternative to the harmful chemicals found in most foam surfboards, we have started glassing our first board with a bamboo cloth. We’re still in the testing stages with this new material, but keep an eye on the blog for an update from the glassing room. Hopefully all goes well and you’ll see start seeing all of our custom boards and Home Grown Kits glassed and supplied with this bamboo cloth instead of fiberglass.

We’ve also just added a ‘non toxic, biodegradeable” surf wax to our online store. Matunas Surf Wax out of Sunset Beach, CA has come up with the non toxic formula, made from all natural, organic ingredients. Were happy to be offering it to you and using it on all of our boards.
